The Best Way to Apologize and Get Forgiveness
Often the intent of words may have impact on another human being that is far more severe than you intended. Assuming that feedback comes to us and surprises us with the severity that we did not intend, then it is appropriate to do and say the following:
1. “I am terribly sorry for what I said and for the pain that I caused you. I truly did not intend to hurt you. I was too stupid or not thoughtful enough and not sensitive enough, to know how much pain that I actually did cause you. Now I know”.
2. “What could I say or do that would satisfy you? Or to correct my actions or help you to overcome the pain I caused you?”
(The Secret Ingredient)
3.Can you and will you please forgive me?
4.Wait for the response. Listen hard. Do not be defensive. Just be respectful and remorseful. Whatever the response, work hard to provide the action determined by the question,” Can you and will you forgive me?” It may be “No, I can’t.” Try again, e.g. ” Will it help to know that I will be open to anything you might think would be proper and helpful to you in order to forgive me?” (Hard stuff here)
5.”I will not forget what I’ve done and I will correct my behavior in the future. I own this. If there is any infraction or repeat by me, please let me know and I will correct it again”.
The Life Lesson
A lot of words. Nonetheless, find the right words that achieve the clear purpose of apology and forgiveness… if you genuinely want to apologize and get forgiven. It truly feels good to go through this process as often as it occurs throughout lifetime and it will happen again.
Don’t be surprised to know that old habits like rudeness are hard to break. Yes and people appreciate it when you are honest, and not “conning” them. Then do it the right way. I have always been impressed by an interview with the entrepreneur and philanthropist J.B.Fuqua, after he made a big mistake. The interviewer, in all sincerity said, ” I guess you will never make that one again, right?” Mr. Fuqua said, “ No, I just said to myself, there you go again”. He did accept himself for his strengths and mistakes. Chances are that he made the type of corrections that worked for him.
No Insourcing of Key Engineers and Computer Scientists From Outside the USA
How in the blazes did the USA get into the position that we haven’t enough professional workers educated in American schools and colleges and universities to fill available jobs? Here is a part of the explanation to be followed by solutions predicated strictly on the knowledge of the Central Productive Process™, the complete system that explains it all.
This situation does not even have coverage on Google here in March 2012. As soon as this piece gets out into cyberspace, there will be people who say, “I knew that.”
We currently do not have enough educated people to fill higher-paying jobs that are available and will be available. Next, there are not now enough courses of study in most of the colleges and universities. They used to prepare more of these people then there were jobs available. Cost-Cutting, you know. Now there are jobs available and there is insufficient numbers and quality of well-trained and educated people. This is a major dilemma. Compare the fact that in the late 1960’s IBM alone projected that they might be hiring more engineers per year than were coming out of all USA colleges combined. Just one company. They treated it seriously. Colleges were alerted and got to it.
The solution and the goal are the same. The United States of America needs to solve the problem of the high cost of higher learning. The institutions must graduate sufficient numbers and quality of people needed to do the work in the USA. If it isn’t a big enough task, just think about how we struggle to find simple solutions for small parts of the system required to have a stable and ever-growing economy with products and services that meet the needs of man and woman. See the Central Productive Process™ to understand and solve all the right problems. They were fixed years ago with a healthy balance of public and private sector collaboration that produced an “Honest- to -God Capitalism”. Planning and Execution together will make it work.
With Slash and Burn, and Greedy leaders earning billions in this culture of “No-Risk Capitalism”, there is only disaster ahead.
This plaintiff, clarion call goes out to all stakeholders. It is, “stop fiddling… the nation and its people are burning right now”.

Honest- to- God Capitalism versus No- Risk Capitalism
Just think about this. Honest- to-God Capitalism is what America did so well in the late 1800′s through the 1970′s. It was all about producing great products and great industries. They controlled, in a good way, the means and methods of production while producing jobs, good quality products and continuous innovation. These products were admired and sold around the world as well as in the USA. The Decent Human Being leaders of these product-producing industries took all the risks with their own capital and their own energies. Napoleon Hill in his famous book, Think and Grow Rich, studied the most successful men of their time. They were all like this and they engaged their brain trusts in risking their capital on behalf of the enterprise. They did not go for OPM. (Other People’s Money).
The “No-Risk Capitalists” in modern times, especially in the past 30 to 40 years, have played with OPM, at no risk to themselves at all. Simply because they manipulate the money or capital, they call themselves capitalists. They aren’t capitalists. They are some kind of charlatans and power figures who have inherited or earned so much money that they think they own the world and its elected officials and have the right to bet against America while making billions with OPM. Look askance at all privatization for this reason. They will decimate the American people and whatever is left of our great industries. This must not be allowed.
Honest-to-God Capitalists are needed. This is a call for a return to the future of Honest-To-God Capitalism that innovates new and better products and services that are built-to-last. Only they can produce good, long lasting jobs and careers in the USA. And yes, sold here in this, the largest free market in the world.
Fortunately for me, my former father-in-law, Joseph Allina was an Honest-To-God-Capitalist. He was one great inspiration to me in 1957 when there was a GE price-fixing scandal. He was invited to be on President Eisenhower’s Council of Economic Advisors. He was also a corporate Senior V.P. of Thonet Industries, the builders of legendary Thonet bentwood rockers.
I was a 27-year-old Army soldier on leave. We were taking a walk. I asked him about GE. He was deeply saddened and shocked and genuinely so. A very strong man, he was in tears as we spoke. He felt betrayed. Not because he had money in GE stock, but because he identified so strongly with American Industry and the character of Honest-To-God Capitalism. “He said, we just don’t do things like this.” His impact on me was his Legacy of Character. It has always guided me in my career.
I hope this transfers over cyberspace to smart young people today to Reject No-Risk Capitalism and choose Honest-To-God Capitalism as their Legacy of Character.
True Honest-to-God Capitalists should, and some are starting to see, the opportunities in this high demand market called America. Signs include more in sourcing and the return of building products at a profit, here in the good old USA.
